Banner Health continues innovating surgery center model with new location

New cardiovascular outpatient surgery center to improve care access, experience

PHOENIX (July 29, 2025) – Banner Health has opened a new outpatient surgery center in Phoenix focused on heart care, which is Banner’s first version of the outpatient model to partner with academic faculty physicians.

Banner Cardiovascular Center – Arcadia is the newest outpatient surgery center for heart care. The center will focus on cardiac device implantation procedures, catheter ablations, cardiac rhythm management, interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular interventions. Features include the latest cardiac monitoring systems that advance digital health and minimally invasive surgical technologies, enabling procedures that once required hospital stays to be performed safely on an outpatient basis. This technology is powered by Banner's commitment to innovation—creating streamlined, patient-centered care pathways that reduce recovery times while maintaining exceptional outcomes.

In a joint venture with leading academic physicians, Banner's academic medicine network brings research-backed protocols and specialized physician expertise directly to the community. Patients who are healthy and otherwise low risk for surgery will benefit from a unique combination of advanced technology in a convenient setting outside of the hospital, innovative care models that prioritize their experience, and the clinical excellence that comes from academic medicine's rigorous standards.

“I’m proud to see the doors open to offer this unprecedented level of cardiac care to our community,” said Roderick Tung, MD, director of Banner – University Medicine Heart Institute, and division chief of cardiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. “This means patients will receive an experience that is more concierge and convenient, while allowing them to recover in the comfort of their own homes.”

Banner Cardiovascular Center – Arcadia is committed to both patient experience and quality outcomes. To ensure transparency and accountability, the center is enrolled in the National Cardiovascular Data Registry for cardiovascular ambulatory surgery centers. Located within Banner Health Center plus at 4200 E. Camelback Road, Suite 101, in Phoenix, the center is a joint venture between Banner Health and Atlas Healthcare Partners, who are experts in creating outpatient surgery centers.
