He performed the first TriClip in 2017, and has the largest experience with transcatheter tricuspid repair in the world. Dr. Sorajja currently serves as the national investigator for multiple early feasibility and pivotal clinical trials in transcatheter valvular heart disease.
Additionally, he has published more than 500 manuscripts and several books, with regular presentations at national and international medical conferences. Dr. Sorajja received his medical degree from Mayo Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Sorajja joined the Mayo Clinic staff in 2006, achieving the rank of professor of medicine in 2012. The following year, Dr. Sorajja joined the Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, where he has since served as the director of the Center for Valve and Structural Heart Disease, and as the Roger L. and Lynn C. Headrick Family Chair of the Valve Science Center.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sorajja has demonstrated exceptional leadership in cardiovascular medicine, serving on several national practice committees for valvular heart disease and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. His expertise spans both clinical care and research, making him a valuable addition to Banner Health's commitment to advancing cardiovascular medicine.
